I am happy to learn that a special kit containing tourism literature on Kushinagar including this book has been prepared for release on the occasion of the World Tourism Day by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Sri Yogi Adityanath.
Kushinagar is the place where Lord Buddha attained Mahaparinirvana. It happens to be one of the four important locations associated with the life of Lord Buddha recommended by him for Buddhist pilgrimage together with Lumbini, Bodhgaya and Sarnath.
It is indeed a commendable initiative on the part of the district administration to promote Kushinagar as a unique pilgrimage and tourist destination of Uttar Pradesh. In fact, there was a very real need for a book of this kind for a long time. This book fits the bill perfectly.
This book is loaded with graphic details on places of interest in Kushinagar and embellished with eye-catching photographs that are a visual treat.
I take this opportunity to congratulate and thank the District Magistrate of Kushinagar, Sri Andra Vamsi, for his efforts in this direction. Also, I wish this project all success and hope that this will not only serve as an authentic source of information on Kushinagar but also go a long way in promoting tourism to this important district in the time to come.
